Glen Kitteringham is a security management and crime prevention professional with over 20 years of industry experience. He started his career at The Hudson Bay Company in Loss
Prevention Management before becoming an insurance fraud investigator. Glen then worked for
Brookfield Properties from 1997-2010, leaving as Director, Security and Life Safety for the Western Canadian Portfolio. His numerous achievements
within Brookfield include setting national standards of security management excellence and developing a Threat Risk Assessment standard for use at all
Brookfield properties across Canada.
Glen is highly educated having earned a Masters Degree in Security and Crime Risk Management from the University of Leicester, a Diploma in Criminology from Mount Royal College, a Certificate in Terrorism Studies from St Andrews University in Scotland, and Certificates in Security and
General Management from the University of Calgary.
He is Board Certified in Security Management, having earned the Certified Protection Professional ("CPP") designation from ASIS International. Glen is a faculty member at the University of Calgary teaching Security Management courses, as well as instructing internationally for the International Foundation for Protection Officers (IFPO).
Glen is a prolific and sought-after international speaker on security and crime prevention topics. He has written and presented extensively on security and crime prevention across North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. He has published numerous articles in professional publications, as well as an authoritative book on 'High Rise Security'. Glen writes a widely-read monthly column on issues related to the private security industry for Canadian Security Magazine.
